Peace
To make the world a peaceful place, first you must make your life peaceful, find peace within yourself.
In a world bringing huge change to our normal way of life such as we have faced in 2020 and now already on the rollercoaster into 2021 how do we do that? How do we find that peace within ourselves and make our own lives peaceful? My experience may be helpful to you.
When I find myself facing a situation that truly is challenging and chaos is around me, one of my go to inspirations is Mahatma Gandhi.
One time when I was in such a challening time I sat quietly to meditate to try and bring peace to my situation. I had a vision of Mahatma Ghandhi. He was in his white cloth robes, one bare shoulder revealing his willowy torso. He had a simple wooden staff in his hand and he was striding along a dirt bank of a huge river.
I just watched him striding very fast, his gaze slightly down but not missing a stone or a step. He was very focused and while I could see a steely determination in his gaze and personna, I could also, more importantly, feel his gentleness. I Just melded into this figure and I was the one walking in this manner.
I'm not saying I was Mahatma Gandhi, I was given the experience of what it is ike to have that strength yet remain my gentle self and stride towards my goal in a peaceful way.
I saw myself looking at the chaos of others around but able to keep my focus.towards my goal with his peace and gentleness.
Through this peace I was able to gain more clarity on how to reaach my goal peacefully and steadily. I felt it was a great gift to me.
Through his whole life Mahatma Gandhi proved that it is possible to remain gentle in spirit and at the ame time, command a huge amount of strength and respect.
Here are some of Mahatma Gandhi's inspiring quotes.
Be the change you want to see in the world.
The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is an attribute of the strong.
A man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.
An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.
I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.
Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.
An ounce of patience is worth more than a tonne of preaching.
A no uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a yes uttered merely to please, or worse, to avoid trouble.
Without action you are not going anywhere.
Be congruent, be authentic, be your true self.
Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
Change yourself - you are in control.
While uploading this piece I heard on the radio that Gerry Marsden of Gerry and the Pacemakers has recently passed over and at this moment in tribute the station is playing his version of You'll Never Walk Alone. At the end of the song the station played a recording of the thousands of the UK football fans singing the chorus. I had goosebumps up and down my arms - which is a sign for me that spirit is listening and giving me a sign. I had the vision of thousands of us around the globe all singing unitedly our hearts were uplifted. I must say that at that moment my eyes and my heart were full.
I acknowledge I have so often doubted my journey, how hard it can be to be doing this spiritual stuff (let alone the material) on your own, wondering if my message had any value - this was spirit's way of getting the message to me at this moment - "You'll Never Walk Alone". I had to take a very deep breath and say - I hear you - Thank You.
This is sometimes how our guides/spirit/source/higher self or whatever you want to term it, work. It is often hard to grab our attention, we get so caught up in our daily lives. But, please know there are many energies always watching out for us and holding us in their hearts. Watch and listen for the signs and inspiration and ÿou'll never walk alone.
Take care,
Jackalyn
